PRIMARY DIRECTIVES

As always, Waldo and his band of loyal readers have an interesting discussion going on regarding the VA primaries. I sympathize with Waldo’s frustration, but I also agree with the point that a well-fought primary campaign only makes the candidate a better campaigner and better prepared for the real fight. If you think things are nasty now, wait until our guy goes up against George Allen…(shudder).

You can see a pretty good “debate” video of Harris Miller and Jim Webb here.

HELENA COBBAN ON CINDY SHEEHAN AND ANN WRIGHT

On Wednesday night, I finally got to (briefly) meet Helena Cobban and tell her how much I enjoy her work. She reviewed CCPJ’s Peace Event and her conclusion: I talked too much. I agree.

Last night, I had the honor of introducing Cindy Sheehan and Ann Wright at an event sponsored by the Charlottesville Center for Peace and Justice. I have created a page with my notes and room for more information here:

THE OTHER BUSH TWINS

Yeah, I’m a little late in finding this one, but there was so much fuss about Stephen Colbert’s performance at the White House Correspondent’s Dinner that it took awhile for me to hear that Bush’s performance was worth watching. I have to give him credit, it was funny. I think Bush got more laughs not just because it was a friendly crowd, which is a questionable claim, but because it’s funnier watching someone make fun of themselves than it is watching someone get made fun of.
